Watch the video below to see some of what we're going to work on when we kick off Creating Effective Web Video.
We’ll start by going through all the different types of video you can make for the web so you can get the best results for your desired outcome.
You might want to create a product video, using the whiteboard technique or a demo video using the explainer technique. By selecting the correct video type you can get your message out there in the most effective way..
You can create these with very little technical knowledge using the software tools I recommend.
Next, we'll look at getting all your preproduction done so you can arrive at your next shoot relaxed and get exactly what you need to capture with your camera.
I've been workshopping this pre production technique for years and it’s one of the most overlooked aspects of video creation.
We'll then focus on shooting video.
This will help you get the best visual results possible by using the best camera for the job and most importantly using it correctly on the shoot.
Equally important is capturing sound at the best quality possible as well as avoiding any possible lighting issues.
Your video will look and sound professional and your viewers will be even more engaged with the content if you get this right.
One of the key skills to creating engaging video is editing. You'll learn to create your own way to organise all your footage, trim your shots and create a compelling professional video, complete with graphics, moving titles and great sounding audio.
Next we'll cover uploading to the web - So you can match your video content to the best possible platform and get maximum engagement and views. There’s much more to this than just uploading a file !! Video SEO and content to platform matching are essential.
Another often overlooked part of creating quality web video is monitoring your video's performance.
It’s essential to evaluate where all the views are coming from, especially the most viewed parts of your videos. This enables you to fine tune future videos to your audience.
We’ll finish off the last 2 weeks with Hot seat Q and A’s - so you can ask questions, get direct feedback from me and the group on your current videos and implement all the course content from the previous weeks.
A unique part of this pilot program in the amount of group sessions I'm making available to participants.
I've purposefully limited the number of participants to make sure I can give enough attention to each one.
There are 3 group sessions per week of UNLIMITED length for the duration of the course.
Any one of these things can move the needle immediately for your videos, and my experience is that ONE of these is going to resonate with you and stand out as a “skill gap” specifically...so as we go through we'll be able to spend more time on that one for you.
Here's how it will work...
We're going to be working closely together, so I'd like you to be sure you have some time to dedicate to this over the next couple of months.
...but for right now, I just need to know if you can get the full benefit of the program and we'll be a good fit. By talking through your social media video expectations I can figure out how you’ll get the best out of the course.
